It is important to feel comfortable with the therapist you work with. We understand that you may want to know a little more about us before deciding to work together.
Katherine is registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) as a Psychotherapist in training. She is in the 3rd year of her training, working towards completing a Masters Degree (MA) in Mindfulness Based Core Process Psychotherapy at The Karuna Institute in Devon. Prior to joining the MA at The Karuna Institute, she trained as a Holistic Health Therapist (2007) and has been working as a group facilitator and meditation teacher alongside this.
If we both feel comfortable to proceed, I will work to develop a subtle attunement to your needs and what is happening in the exchange between us. This will allow me to sense what we are working with, how best to respond to your needs and support you as we continue. For example there maybe times we are in tender territory, or when something a bit more robust is required; attunement allows me to respond accordingly with skill and care.
I love being present with someone else's journey, to be useful in enabling some through a stuck place, to feel it all with you, and walk alongside you until we come out the other side. I'm humbled when I see clients come through difficulties and go on to live full, joyful lives, reclaiming a deeper level of who they are and being able to live that in that world... what a blessing!
Fundamentally, I'm here to support you in your journey, to be with you in your experience, and to see how together, we can look to meet and heal some old wounds which maybe preventing you from living a full life here and now'.
